Shrimp Boat Bar and Grill Review - Valrico, FL - April 10, 2019

The Shrimp Boat Bar and Grill is located at:

Hours of operation are:

• Monday - Thursday 11:30 AM – 10:00 PM
• Friday and Saturday 11:30 AM – 11:00 PM
• Sunday 11:30 AM – 9:00 PM

They do offer catering and event space.

The restaurant is open and inviting with indoor and outdoor (enclosed) seating.

The Shrimp Boat has both booths and tables.

It has a welcoming fireplace.

And a quaint bar with tables as well.

They have both a lunch and dinner menu, first up is the lunch menu.

 This is the dinner menu.

 They started us off with two breads a honey wheat and a focaccia (the roll). What is focaccia? Focaccia is a flat oven-baked Italian bread similar in style and texture to pizza dough.

The classics are served with 2 sides or a side salad. This is the caesar salad. It was a generous portion on a dinner size plate.

This was eaten with the Lunch portion Coconut Shrimp that has panko coconut breading, and served with housemate piña colada sauce. The photo doesn't really show scale very well but these were very large shrimp.

 The next order was the Lunch Fried Shrimp with two sides, cole slaw and french fries. Served with cocktail sauce and ketchup.

My meal was the special of the day which was grouper fingers served with one side. I picked the loaded potato hash. It was served with a cilantro, jalapeño tartar sauce. I enjoyed this very much, the grouper fingers were larger than I expected and served piping hot. The fish was flaky and mild. The loaded potato hash was shredded hash browns with cheese, bacon, and green onions. How can you go wrong with that?

All in all we enjoyed our lunch very much. We'd definitely go back to try other items on the menu.
