Earl's Restaurant and Bar - Millenia Mall - Orlando, FL May 31, 2019

Posted by F S on

Today's review is for Earl's Restaurant and Bar located at The Mall at Millenia in Orlando, Florida.

Hours are:

  • Sunday 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m.
  • Monday - Thursday 11:30 a.m. to 11:00 p.m.
  • Friday - 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 a.m. (even though the door says 12:30 p.m. I'm sure that's a typo because they aren't open for just an hour on Fridays)
  • Saturday 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 a.m.

To get to this restaurant the only entrance is on the outside of the Mall located between Macy's and the main entrance where Cheesecake Factory is located. It use to be the location of the Blue Martini.

Outside the front door you can view the menu. So that you aren't surprised once you are seated. Although there's nothing on this menu that is surprising.

The dining room is large and open with light and bright decor. They have both booths and tables with chairs as well as a large bar for seating.

The kitchen is open to the main dining room, although you can't sit at the kitchen you can still see what's happening if your seat is facing the kitchen.

On this day we were given the Happy Hour Menu as well as the standard menu. The front side is food.

The back side is drinks.

We were also given a Chef Selections menu with new and notable items.

From this menu we chose to have the Buffalo Cauliflower for our appetizer. This is the first time we've ordered any of the trendy cauliflower dishes appearing on lots of menus. And this cauliflower was battered and deep fried to a golden brown, tossed in medium heat buffalo sauce and served with celery sticks and a house made ranch dressing. I must say this was a fabulous dish. We both enjoyed every bite.

The menu comes in a fancy folder. So I had to get a photo of that.

Page 1 is Sushi, Sharables and soups and salads. The Buffalo cauliflower is also on this page.

Page 2 is Noodles & Bowls, Tacos and Burgers.

We chose the Bacon Cheddar Burger from this page, we did mention that we'd be sharing this entree and the kitchen split the order for us. Yay! How nice of them to do this. The Bacon Cheddar burger comes with smoked bacon, tomatoes, onion, lettuce, pickles, mayonnaise and mustard on a toasted brioche bun. The burger itself is a Creekstone Farms Black Angus burger that is from cows raised without use of antibiotics, steroids or added hormones. This burger is probably one of the best we've had lately and we eat a fair number of burgers. The flavor was outstanding. Did you know that it matters the order of what's on your burger? Because depending on how it's built will determine what you will taste. This one has been done so that you taste every single ingredient. I won't give away their order but have it written down for the next time I make burgers at home because this combination was the best by far. As you can see it's also served with hand cut french fries.

Page 3 is Steaks and Main Plates. We will have to come back for dinner here sometime to try out the mains.

Page 4 is the Plant based items, desserts and brunch items. We were very tempted by the brunch items. But the burger really captured our attention.

So the whole reason we share an entree is so that we can enjoy dessert.  From this page we chose the Sticky Toffee Chocolate Pudding. And boy are we glad we did. What an awesome surprise when it got to the table. We sure weren't expecting this. It's a warm chocolate pudding cake, with chocolate and toffee sauces and vanilla ice cream in a lace cookie. While this photo does't really give you much scale the pudding cake is probably 5" across.

This dessert was spectacular. The warm chocolate pudding was every bit as tasty as I would want in a warm chocolate cake smothered in chocolate and toffee sauces. The vanilla ice cream was the right amount of cold and vanilla notes to offset the chocolate and the slight snap of the lace cookie was a perfect crunch.

If you are ever dining with us when this arrives at the table you better have your spoon at the ready because it's going to be a feeding frenzy when it arrives. We left not a mere morsel of this. If we could have licked the plate we would have.

We'd like to shout out to our server Sedaya, he was awesome and to the others that helped with service at our table.

We will absolutely go back here, and probably sometime soon to try the main dishes. So if you are at the Mall of Millenia in Orlando, give Earl's a try. You won't be disappointed.
